FORMULA BLUE Class Weight Structure
Weight is often a problem in any class, if you are a cadet driver moving up you don’t want to be carrying loads of lead to get up to the weight limit, similarly if you are a well built junior you don’t want to be spat out the back of the grid because of your size. The same applies to seniors, there’s none of us getting any smaller is there.
Formula Blue uses a unique restrictor system to adjust power outputs to match the drivers body weight, these restrictors have been tested on the dyno and at two separate circuits, one open fast one and one tight twisty one in order to fully evaluate the range and how they apply to driver weights. Each restrictor is colour coded for ease of identification in scruitineering.
The bottom line is that this means if you’re a light junior or senior, your karts performance wont be compromised by carrying loads of lead, if you’re a big junior or big senior, you aint gonna get spat out the back of the pack just because of your size.
There is an associated minimum overall weight associated with each restrictor.

You will notice that there is overlap in the spec between junior and senior, means if you are a heavy junior competing and are able to move up to seniors, you will not need to make any changes to the spec of your kart, simply enter with the seniors.
