Formula Blue Challenge Series Junior Blue Challenge Series
Announcement We are pleased to announce that for 2006 we shall run and operate a series aimed at Formula Blue and Junior Blue competitors in Scotland. We are presently in talks with potential sponsors to give the series headline title’s and to assist with year end prizes. We have already achieved backing from Custom Canopies, who are sponsoring the Rookie award in both the Formula Blue Challenge and the Junior Blue Challenge.
The overall series will encompass 8 rounds with 6 to count. The series aims to reward experienced and in-experienced drivers alike. The points scoring system deployed will be based on the NKRA points scoring system, ie your grid position for final is 50% of your points score and your final result is the remaining 50%. The Challenge series points will be collated by ourselves and displayed on our website www.kmsracing.co.uk . We shall endeavour to update these points within 2 to 3 days of each round. The meetings will be incorporated with normal club races and be run to the MSA Blue book. There is no registration nor additional entry fee’s, competitors simply take part in the nominated club meetings. This series is not registered with the MSA.
Final positions in the Formula Blue and Junior Blue Challenge will attract points which can be carried forward to the NKRA Grand Finals, counting towards the overall points scoring system Nationally, for award of recognised numbers ie 1 to 15. These allocated digits shall be allocated based on scoring from the NKRA regional Rounds, the Challenge in Scotland and the NKRA Grande Finals.
The Challenge 2006 The Challenge will take place over 8 meetings with best 6 to count towards end of year awards. The eligible meetings are as follows, there is an overlap with the NKRA rounds
5 th March WSKC, Larkhall (also NKRA R1) 9 th April GKC, Banff (also NKRA R2) 7 th May WSKC, Larkhall 21 st May ESKC, Crail (also NKRA R3) 11 th June GKC, Banff (also NKRA R4) 1 st July WSKC, Larkhall (also NKRA R5) 16 th July ESKC, Crail 17 th Sept ESKC, Crail
The Classes The series is split into 2 categories Formula Blue Challenge for drivers 16 or over and Junior Blue Challenge for drivers 11 to 16. The front spoiler and nassua panel is reserved for the appending of Challenge sponsors logo’s, this will be strictly policed. There will be awards within each category as follows:-
Formula Blue Challenge – All drivers eligible, year end trophies for 1 st 2 nd and 3 rd. With a perpetual award to 1 st. Senior Formula Blue Challenge – Drivers over 40 years of age. Year end trophy and perpetual award to 1 st place. Formula Blue Rookie Challenge – Sponsored in 2006 by Custom Canopies, drivers eligible for Rookie status (see below). Year end trophy and top prize with perpetual award to 1 st place
Junior Blue Challenge – All drivers eligible, year end trophies for 1 st 2 nd and 3 rd. With a perpetual award to 1 st. Junior Blue Rookie Challenge – Sponsored in 2006 by Custom Canopies, drivers eligible for Rookie status (see below). Year end trophy and top prize with perpetual award to 1 st place
Rookie Drivers : All novices and any driver who starts a season with a novice plate Any driver in their first full season, ie start a season as a non novice driver Any new driver to the class
Who is not eligible for Rookie status Any Rookie who finishes in the top 3 on two separate occasions in any series round Any Rookie who wins the Rookie title will not be eligible the following year Any driver joining the class who quite clearly does not merit Rookie status (based on previous racing experience)
